Moriah Hughes Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Moriah Hughes, a Hamilton High School graduate who was killed in December of 2015 at the age of 24 in a car accident while driving to work on a snowy morning in American Fork, Utah.
Dale E. Kraft Vocational Scholarship
Dale E. Kraft was a vocational teacher at Hamilton High School for many years. He directed an innovative program for the building of Construction Trades Class houses, through which homes were built at low cost with the tremendous support of community suppliers and tradesmen. The Homes were then auctioned off and the proceeds now make this scholarship possible.
Alma Hayes Art Scholarship
The Alma Hayes Art Scholarship was formed from the estate of Alma Hayes in 1998. Her husband was an illustrator at Rocky Mountain Laboratory and both Mr. and Mrs. Hayes were artists in various media: sculpting, watercolor, drawing, painting, and woodworking. Mrs. Hayes was also a Girl Scout leader.
First Security Bank Scholarship
Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and have proven leadership and service skills in the community.
Friends of the Hamilton Schools Foundation
To be eligible, an applicant must be a senior (in attendance 7th and 8th semesters) at Hamilton High School.
Hamilton Garden Club Scholarship
Priority will be given to students entering the fields of Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation, or a Vocational Trade.
Mason V. and Iva M. Hargett Scholarship
The Mason V. and Iva M. Hargett Scholarship was established to reward excellent scholastic performance. Mrs. Hargett was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hamilton. Dr. Hargett joined the scientific community at Rocky Mountain Laboratories after having worked in Brazil and various laboratories across the United States. He and a colleague are credited with developing the Yellow Fever Vaccine, which saved the lives of countless American and Allied soldiers during WWII.
Michael Gary Belville Scholarship
Michael Belville was a student in the graduating class of 1975. This scholarship is for a student who may not otherwise qualify for an academic scholarship but who shows potential from their overall record and life experience.
Miss Jack M. Crutchfield Scholarship
The Miss Jack M. Crutchfield Scholarship was formed as a bequest from the Crutchfield estate. “Miss Jack” Crutchfield was a Bitterroot native who graduated from Hamilton High School in 1920. This scholarship is earmarked for deserving young women who plan to attend the University of Montana. Recipients may reapply for this scholarship annually for up to three subsequent years while pursuing their degree if a 3.2 or higher GPA is maintained. Applications in subsequent years will be considered along with the applications of the current year HHS graduating class applicants.
Moerkerke Family Scholarship
The Moerkerke Family Scholarship was established by Jim and Joyce Moerkerke, both graduates of Hamilton High School.
Paying-It-Forward Scholarship
The Paying-It-Forward Scholarship is made possible by Dr. Bryanna “Bry” Gordon Martin, DDS and Mr. Alex Martin. Both were long-term residents of the Hamilton community and athletes at HHS. Alex graduated HHS in 2008 and Bry in 2010. Both credit much of their personal and professional accomplishments to their Hamilton experiences and HHS education, thus wish to "pay-it-forward”.
Pearl E. Badger Memorial Scholarship
The Pearl E. Badger Memorial Scholarship was formed as a bequest of the estate in 2004. Ms. Badger was an active member of the community and wanted to provide an annual scholarship to Hamilton High School graduating Seniors.
Ravalli Sports Club Scholarship
The Ravalli Sports Club created this scholarship to benefit soccer players that have attended Hamilton High School. Priority will be given to students with financial need.
Stoenner Leadership Scholarship
Established in 1998 by Dr. Herbert G. Stoenner and Mrs. Madge K. Stoenner, this fund provides scholarships to two Hamilton High School graduates annually. Dr. Stoenner was a scientist at Rocky Mountain Laboratory, and both Dr. and Mrs. Stoenner were very active in the Hamilton community. Their children were Hamilton High graduates as well as very active in extra-curricular activities. Academic performance, leadership, and need are chief selection considerations.
The Gerloff Family Memorial Scholarship
The Gerloff Family Memorial Scholarship was offered through the Gerloff Family Trust in 2012. Dr. Gerloff was a scientist at the Rocky Mountain Laboratory for decades. Also active in the Hamilton community, he served as a board member in the Kiwanis Club and delivered “Meals on Wheels.”
VFW Post 1430 Scholarship
The VFW Post 1430 Scholarship was made possible by the local chapter’s generous contribution of funds received from the sale of their clubhouse. This scholarship will be awarded to a direct relative (brother, sister, son, daughter, grandchild) of a Veteran of Foreign War.
Vinal Scholarship
The Vinal Scholarship is established by Dean and Virginia Vinal. Virginia Vinal began her teaching career at HHS as a Spanish teacher. From 1952 to 1981 she developed an outstanding choral program at HHS. She was also credited as Founder of the Bitterroot Valley Chorus. Dean Vinal was the band director at HHS from 1952 until 1977. He composed the HHS Fight song. The scholarship is available to any Senior (in attendance 7th and 8th semesters) at Hamilton High School.
Virginia & Dean Vinal Music Scholarship
Originally started by students as a gift to their choral director, this award has since been sustained by Virginia Vinal and memorials to her husband, Dean. The Vinals began teaching music in the Hamilton schools in the fall of 1951. The scholarship is awarded to a student who will major in music and has an excellent GPA.
William Enderlein Scholarship
The Enderlein Scholarship was formed as a bequest from the Enderlein Estate. The Enderlein family was well regarded in the Hamilton community, and this scholarship was established to honor their deceased son, Bill, who graduated from Hamilton High School.
